Building Analyst/ Energy Auditor
This curriculum focuses on an understanding of energy consumption in homes, the energy audit process, diagnotstic testing, and the building science based energy retrofit.This course is focused for BPI certification candidates and weatherization energy auditors.
Envelope Professional
Envelope Professional is a specialization that focuses on the building thermal and pressure boundaries, and the ways to enhance the envelope through insulation and air sealing techniques. This curriculum focuses on insulation, air sealing, and associated building repair.
Heating Professional
This curriculum focuses on the evaluation, service, and energy efficiency improvements of residential forced air heating and ventilation systems.
Course Types
Classroom Courses
These courses range from 4 to 6 days and they include classroom and field training, as well as study materials, certification exams and associated fees, and breakfast on days held in the classroom. In addition you will receive access to the acclaimed INTERCAZ online simulation software. This software will allow you to realistically simulate a home analysis, including blower door and combustion safety testing. You will need to bring a laptop in order to take the written test; if you are unable to procure one, let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
On-Line Courses
These course are conducted at your own pace from any computer with an internet connection. You will have 90 days of unlimited access to the online curriculum, including student forums, videos, power points, and practice exams, along with instructor support either via email or the online discussion forums. You will also receive all study materials needed for the course to include textbooks and study guides. In addition, you will receive access to the INTERCAZ online simulation software. This software will allow you to realistically simulate a home analysis, including blower door and combustion safety testing. Please note that these courses and their prices do not include any field training or testing. Those can be paid for and arranged separately at your convenience. Online courses are $750.
