Robert Hammon Tapped to Join Schwarzenegger’s Green Action Team
Appear in: ConSol Press Release - October 2005
STOCKTON, CA—(October 2005)—Rob Hammon, Ph.D., principal of ConSol recently was chosen to participate on the Energy Efficiency Committee, one of three action committees under the jurisdiction of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Green Building Initiative.
On December 14, 2004, Governor Schwarzenegger issued the executive order that established the initiative, calling on State agencies and commercial businesses to aggressively adopt conservation and energy efficiency measures. The order directs state facilities to reduce energy use by 20 percent by 2015 and assigns state agencies to establish policies to advance the widespread adoption of energy efficient and green building practices in California.
Hammon will work with the Energy Efficiency Committee, led by Jackie Pfannenstiel of the California Energy Commission and Sunne McPeak, Secretary of Business Transportation and Housing in Governor Schwarzenegger’s administration. The charge of the committee is to seek ways to achieve the governor’s goals in commercial buildings.
Hammon has pioneered energy efficiency as a market driver for quality construction, especially via voluntary programs. He oversees ConSol’s consulting department, which specializes in market analysis, energy savings assessments, energy-efficient building design, interpretation of regulations, and training for utilities and industry. He also currently serves as director of research for the Building Industry Institute and as lead for the Building Industry Research Alliance (BIRA), a U.S. Department of Energy Building America Team.
