Rob Hammon to Co-chair New Solar Homes Committee
Appear in: ConSol Press Release - April 2006
ConSol principal to lead California Energy Commission’s newly formed committee to help state meet growing energy demands.
STOCKTON, CA—(April 2006)—Rob Hammon, principal of Stockton-based ConSol, has been tapped to co-chair the New Solar Homes Partnership Advisory Committee that will advise the California Energy Commission (CEC) staff and its commissioners how to create the most effective program to encourage solar technology in new home construction. CEC Commissioner and Vice Chair Jackie Pfannenstiel appointed Hammon to the post.
The New Solar Homes Partnership Advisory Committee was formed as a result of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s executive order that provides $2.8 billion to fund solar rebates statewide. The residential new home construction share of this fund totals $350 million and is administered by the CEC.
Hammon will share committee responsibilities with David Hochschild of PV Now. Both were chosen for their perspectives, ideas, expertise, and combined knowledge of emergent solar technology. Hammon leads the consulting group at ConSol that works with builders to develop methods and practices for practical, marketable, super energy-efficient communities, often incorporating solar.
ConSol researches new resource-efficient construction methods and develops energy and resource efficiency programs for new residential construction. Also participating on the committee are Mike Keesee from Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), and Lloyd Levine, an elected California Assembly Member. Other members of the advisory committee include Greg Ander from Southern California Edison, Bruce Brown from PG&E, Mark Gaines from SDG&E, Bernadette DelChiaro from Environment California, Carol Galante from Bridge Housing, Bill Kelly from Powerlight, Jan McFarland from ASPv, Wally McGuire from Flex Your Power, Joyce Mason from Pardee Homes, Les Nelson from CalSEIA, and Robert Raymer from the California Building Industry Association.
