California Green Builder is the most effective and cost-effective green building program for production builders and California homebuyers. Created by homebuilders for homebuilders, the voluntary program meets the needs of builders, buyers, and California's cities and counties alike by conserving resources, preserving the environment, and measuring the impact. ConSol administers the California Green Builder program for The Building Industry Institute.

| A developer’s project was tabled by a city council worried about potential environmental impacts. To alleviate the officials’ concerns, the developer offered the city a viable solution. Two weeks later, the city approved the project as long as the homes were built to green builder requirements. The 3250 homes will save at least 200 MWh and 7 million gallons of water a year. |
