Green Programs
AZ Green Builder (AZGB) is a voluntary program developed by the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona to encourage the construction of production home subdivisions that exceed building code requirements for energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality and the efficient use of resources. This regionally specific green building program allows builders to differentiate themselves from their competitors and enhance sales to home buyers looking to improve the environment and reduce energy and water costs.

As of January 1, 2011 California will require that new buildings reduce water consumption, employ building commissioning to increase building system efficiencies, divert construction waste from landfills, and install low pollutant emitting finish materials. CALGreen’s mandatory measures establish a minimum for green construction practices, and incorporate environmentally responsible buildings into the everyday fabric of California cities without significantly driving up construction costs in a slow economy.

To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes. ConSol provides compliance documentation, the required testing, diagnostics and certification to builders seeking ENERGY STAR® status. ConSol is a proud partner of ENERGY STAR.

The Southern Nevada Green Building Partnership (SNGBP) grew from a need to build comfortable, energy efficient homes that use sustainable resources and leave a smaller environmental imprint. This voluntary program was designed to benefit buyers, jurisdictions, and builders alike. It is truly a win-win-win program for Las Vegas.
