Neighborhood Retrofit Program

The Neighborhood Retrofit Program is a simple, low-cost, turn-key retrofit program implemented on a community-wide scale that can quickly extract energy savings and increase the value trapped in America’s existing homes. The goal is to create a self-sustaining home retrofit and conservation model that makes economic sense for all involved. By using scale to lower costs, home owner’s out-of-pocket expenses will be reduced (notably the biggest barrier for other tried, but failed retrofit programs). Aligning neighborhood-specific retrofit packages with existing independent incentives will create an even lower cost proposition. The results of the program include: the creation of local “green” jobs”; energy savings; lower utility bills; positive environmental impact; and a potential financial mechanism to sustain these activities into the future.
