ARRA Assistance
Regardless of your city or county’s size or how far along in the application process you are, ConSol is able to provide an array of services to help you including: Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Application Assistance; Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (EECS) - including AB32 carbon assessment; Program Advancing Community Efficiency (PACE) – a comprehensive carbon inventory and aggressive home retrofit program; creation of an energy efficiency financing mechanism; and competitive bid assistance for projects applying for other federal funds.
Builder Energy Code Training
Builder Energy Code Training (BECT) provided by ConSol has helped the building industry keep up with changes in the stringent California energy codes since 1995. Builders who have attended sessions have improved in-the-field Title 24 compliance as well as their understanding of implementation. In 2006 alone, ConSol trained 67 builders and 130 jurisdictions.
Consulting
ConSol’s consulting department specializes in innovative residential new construction research and demonstration projects, market analyses, energy-savings assessments, building design, program development and implementation.
Energy Code Compliance (T24 & IECC)
ConSol specializes in providing the most cost-effective energy code compliance strategies for production and multi-family builders. The expertise of our highly trained and certified staff allows us to identify potential costly design problems and recommend cost-effective energy features.
Federal Tax Credits/Utility Rebates
ConSol can help you participate in incentive and rebate programs so you can realize additional revenues to offset the costs of your shift towards green construction practices. Federal Tax Credits can help you realize up to $2000/unit for above code building and many utilities offer rebates for above code building. ConSol can assist the builder in qualifying for them (by filling out applications, collecting the necessary paperwork, phase sheets, plans, site maps, signatures, etc.)
Home Energy Inspections
ConSol’s certified raters provide oversight for a better built home. The raters have been certified and monitored by either the California Home Energy Efficiency Rating System (CHEERS) or CalCerts. Both are approved by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to certify and monitor energy raters. ConSol’s certified raters work with your site staff to ensure non-interrupted production and oversight.
Mechanical Engineering
ConSol's mechanical engineering group designs HVAC systems based on nationally accepted Air Conditioning Contractors of America Guidelines (ACCA) Manuals J, S, and D. All drawings are done on AutoCAD and include detailed performance criteria and important installation details. Designs reviewed and stamped by licensed mechanical engineers help reduce customer callbacks and increase homeowner comfort. Residential plumbing is also available.
Studies and Assessments
ConSol can analyze and calculate carbon emissions, energy performance, environmental and fiscal impacts, life cycle costing, code requirements, and new legislation to help your project gain support during a regulatory, entitlement or approval process. Our insights and experience enable us to tailor studies and assessments to your specific needs. ConSol can deliver scenarios and options to help get your project off the ground and we can put it into words.
Sustainable Communities
Sustainable communities are considerate of the environment. ConSol can help land planners, developers, jurisdictions and builders who are facing challenges of new legislation with pro-active planning. Value can be added to projects by enhancing sustainable designs and reducing environmental impacts.
