Building Performance Institute (BPI) Trainer
 Alex Vantaggiato is the lead trainer at ConSol. Prior to joining ConSol, Alex was an instructor for the United States Army and is currently with the United States Army Reserves. Alex has been in the residential construction industry in California for seven years. He started his career at ConSol as a HERS rater, providing inspection services throughout Northern California. He was then promoted to regional field operations manager of Northern California, where he became responsible of the training, safety and accountability of ConSol’s HERS raters located in the region. His knowledge base focuses on home performance and building technology, with emphasis on preventing and resolving problems related to building design, construction, and operation. He was promoted to lead trainer because of his expertise and ability to relate to an audience. He is currently conducting ConSol’s Builder Energy Code Training (BECT), and he also conducts Building Performance Institute (BPI) trainings for the Building Analysts and Envelope Professionals certifications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and is a student of building science and home performance. He is a practicing BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, and a HERS I and II California Energy Rater.
 Rob Starr is the assistant field operations manager for ConSol’s Home Energy Rating System team and works with ConSol home inspectors throughout California and Nevada to confirm that energy efficiency features in new homes are installed correctly and perform to standards. He provides Quality Assurance/Quality Control for Community Services and Development’s weatherization contractors throughout the state. As a BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, he was a valuable resource in the development of ConSol’s BPI training. Starr conducts ConSol’s BECT and BPI training. He is certified in California by the California Home Energy Efficiency Rating System (CHEERS) and CalCERTS, and by RESNET in other states. He is also solar, commercial and HERS II certified and is. Rob learned the advanced principles of heating and cooling and extensive knowledge of HVAC system design and operations prior to joining ConSol, as an HVAC installer. He attended San Bernardino Valley College where he studied Inspection Technology.
